Our Collections
The Moosehead Historical Society maintains an extensive archive documenting the history of the Moosehead Lake region — photographs, documents, artifacts, publications, and more. We are in the process of cataloging and digitizing our collections to make them searchable online for researchers, historians, and anyone curious about the region’s past.
Search Our Online Collections
Our online database provides access to a growing collection of photographs, archival materials, books, and records. While we’ve cataloged thousands of items, only a portion are currently available online — but the database is expanding regularly as we continue our digitization work.
From historic postcards and family photographs to logging camp records and steamship documents, the database offers a searchable window into the region’s past. We invite you to explore what’s available and check back as the collection grows.
Video Archive
Explore our collection of historical videos documenting the Moosehead Lake region — from oral histories and documentary footage to archival film capturing moments from the past. These videos bring history to life in ways that photographs and documents alone cannot.
Whether you’re researching family history, exploring the region’s logging heritage, or simply curious about Moosehead’s past, we invite you to explore our collections. If you need assistance or have questions about materials not yet available online, don’t hesitate to reach out.
